Satan wants you
Satan Wants To Take Control of You, Avoid the temptation and lies!
Although he was defeated at the cross of Jesus Christ, the date of his final judgment is already on God's Calendar. He attempts to convince those who don't know any better that he is still in control. Satan's ability to blind unbelievers of Jesus Christ results in their separation from God and Hell. But non Christians are not the only ones who are victims of Satan's temptations and lies. Many believers, unaware of Satan'sdisarmament at the cross still act as if he is their master. They cower in fear at his threats. They surrender to his temptations. They allow themselves to be used for his pleasures. The result, even if Satan cannot rob you from your place in Heaven. How ever he is able to deprive you of the benefits of being a child of God. In the process he is able to use you as a accomplice in his on going assault on the Kingdom of God. Do you realize you have an enemy who is determined to deceive you and deprive you of your privileges as a child of God, and destroy you as a servant of God? In addition Satan has also developed a detailed plan to accomplish those goals in your life. Think about it. Right now in the pit of hell there is a completed blueprint with your name on it that details Satan's plan for robbing you of every good thing God has planned for you. Have you considered this? Have you ever thought about yourself as a target of such strategies? This is not a fantasy. It's the truth you do have an enemy, one who executes battle strategies and tactics to bring out your destruction. If you are going to be successful in repelling the attacks of your enemy, you must realize Satan hates you and he has a terrible plan for your life. While his plan for your eternity is highly personalized, it involves one or more of these things.
1. TO DISCOURAGE YOU FROM WORSHIPING GOD.
2. TO DISTRACT YOU FROM SERVING GOD.
If Satan cannot persuade you to reject God the next best thing is to distract you so you ignore God.
3. TO DECEIVE YOU INTO DISOBEYING.
This is Satan's preferred objective because of the resulting in spiritual fallout in Christian's lives. I can imagine you can think of a Christian you respected, who without any warning has done one of the following things.
DESERTED HIS OR HER MATE FOR SOMEONE MORE APPEALING.
ALLOWED MONEY TO TRAP HIM OR HER INTO SOME KIND OF ILLEGAL
ACTIVITY
BECAME INVOLVED OR WATCHED SOME KING OF PORNOGRAPHY OR SOME OTHER KIND OF SEXUAL IMMORALITY.
Since we do have an active adversary who is trying to take us out and destroy us we need to be aware of his methods for deceiving us into disobedience.
Satan has set traps for us by using bait he drops in front of us. Those traps include a strong desire for certain things. (Recognition, Emotional intimacy with others, Sexual fulfillment, Food and clothing, Power, and Possessions) It is important to understand that there is nothing wrong with any of those desires. The problem is that our natural desires have been corrupted since Adam and Eve fell in the garden. Adam and Eve attempted to satisfy their natural desires in their own way, instead of God's way. We easily fall victim to the same lie that Satan used on Eve. (God's commands are designed to rob you of what you really desire in life) Sound familiar?
GOD'S COMMANDS TO GIVE GENEROUSLY WILL PUT A DAMPER ON YOUR FINANCIAL
SECURITY.
GOD'S INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING HUMILITY AND SERVICE WILL CAUSE YOU FROM BEING
RECOGNIZED FROM OTHERS.
Having bought into Satan's lie that God cannot be trusted to provide what we need and that we are responsible for our own well being, we are being setup for the next lie and temptation equation. While all of us experience opportunity for Satan's temptations there are certain times we are prone to take Satan's bait.
1. WHEN YOU HAVE JUST EXPERIENCED GREAT SUCCESS.
When you have overcome obstacles you have faced, then when you go back through them because you know what to expect, you let your guard down and get careless
2. WHEN YOU ARE TIRED.
You do not think straight and you make poor judgments.
3. WHEN YOU ARE ALONE AND DEPRESSED.
That's when Satan can really mess with you. He can make you feel like no one cares about you, God has abandoned you, you will always be alone, so you will be temped to let Satan in because of the lies he tells you.
4. WHEN YOU ARE WAITING ON GOD.
Satan can gain great advantage in your life during that seemingly endless period of time between your desperate cry for God's help and his answer. Satan will tempt you into taking matters into your own hands.
5. WRONG CHOICES.
This is one of the most important factors. Because we control our choices. Our corrupted desires are not our fault. We can thank Adam and Eve for them. We can not control which bait Satan drops in front of us. Unless we are willing to isolate ourselves from everyone and everything in life, but Satan will figure out some way to still tempt us. How ever we do have control over our responses to Satan's bait. We must yield to it. And just remember this. When you know you are going to do something that is wrong, that is God telling you that it is wrong. But when you do
it anyway that is Satan tempting you with his lies and telling you to do it
and that it is ok.
